Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of BugBox, a Chrome extension and web dashboard operated by Bytamins ("we", "us"). By creating an account or installing the extension you agree to them. If you don't, please don't use the service.

The service

BugBox lets you record voice and bounding-box annotations on web pages and pass them to an AI coding agent for implementation. We provide the recording, storage, transcription, dashboard, and the MCP server your agent reads from. We don't guarantee uninterrupted availability, but we'll make a reasonable effort to keep it running.

Your account

  • You must be at least 16 years old to use BugBox.
  • You're responsible for keeping your account credentials and API tokens secret. Tokens issued for the MCP server grant access to your team's sessions; revoke any you no longer need.
  • One person per account. You can be a member of one team at a time.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use BugBox to:

  • Record audio or screenshots from sites or applications you don't have permission to capture.
  • Capture content from people without their consent where consent is required by law (recording-consent rules vary by jurisdiction — you're responsible for knowing yours).
  • Capture sensitive personal data, payment data, or protected health information unless you have lawful authority to do so.
  • Reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the service in ways not contemplated by the published interfaces.
  • Use BugBox to build a competing product or to train a machine-learning model on data you obtained through it.
  • Send spam or abuse via team invitations.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, with or without notice.

Plans, billing, and quotas

  • The Free plan includes 60 minutes of recording per month per team. Paid plans include their own pooled minutes; overages are billed per the plan's overage rate.
  • Subscription fees are charged in advance for the chosen billing period and are non-refundable except where required by law.
  • You can cancel a paid subscription any time from the billing settings page; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period.
  • Quotas are pooled at the team level, anchored to the date the team was created (not the calendar month).
  • We may change pricing with at least 30 days' notice; changes only apply to renewals.

Your content

You retain ownership of the audio, screenshots, transcripts, and other content you create with BugBox. You grant us a non-exclusive licence to host, transmit, and process that content as needed to run the service for you. We do not claim any rights to your content beyond that, do not sell it, and do not use it to train AI models.

Our content

The BugBox software, brand, dashboard, and documentation are owned by Bytamins. You may use them as part of using the service, but not to build a competing product or to misrepresent your relationship with us.

Third-party services

BugBox depends on Google (auth), Supabase (data + storage), Vercel (hosting), OpenAI (Whisper transcription), Resend (email), and Stripe (payments). Their terms apply to the parts of the service they provide. See our Privacy Policy for details on what each receives.

Disclaimers

BugBox is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Audio transcription is best-effort and may contain errors; we don't guarantee transcription accuracy. AI-generated code changes implemented from BugBox sessions are produced by your AI coding agent — you are responsible for reviewing and testing them before shipping.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bytamins is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, arising from your use of BugBox. Our total liability for any claim is capped at the greater of (a) US$100, or (b) the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Termination

You can stop using BugBox at any time and delete your account from the settings page. We may suspend or terminate accounts for material breach of these terms, with notice where practical. On termination, your sessions and account data are handled per the retention rules in our Privacy Policy.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.

Changes

We'll update this page when we change these terms and bump the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes will also be communicated by email. Your continued use after changes take effect counts as acceptance.
